This policy describes exactly what we store, why, and what you can do about it. It reflects how the app actually works rather than covering every eventuality.
Special category data. Telling us your gender and who you want to meet can reveal your sexual orientation. Under UK and EU data protection law that is “special category” data, which needs a higher standard of protection and your explicit consent. You give that consent by choosing those options during onboarding, and you can withdraw it at any time by deleting your account. We use it only to decide who sees whom. We never use it for advertising, and we never sell it.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising. These companies process data on our behalf, under contract:

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect someone's safety.
People who match your preferences, and whose preferences you match, can see your name, age, city, bio, photos, astrological placements and Human Design summary.
They cannot see your exact birth date, time or coordinates. That information is held separately and is readable only by you. Other members see the resulting chart, never the details that produced it. Your email address is never shown to anyone.
If you are in the UK or EU you have the right to see the data we hold, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, receive a portable copy, and withdraw consent at any time.
Deleting your account from Settings does most of this immediately. For anything else, write to contact@seventhhouse.app — we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to the data protection authority for the country you live in — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office.
Seventh House is for adults. You must be 18 or older to use it. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18 we delete it. If you believe a member is under 18, report them — there is a reason for exactly this in the report menu.
Our providers may process data outside your country. Where that happens we rely on the safeguards those providers offer, including the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
If we change this policy in a way that materially affects you, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
